While all the gods take turns zinging the king with insult comedy in their own style––Artemis shoots one-liners like arrows, Apollo reads a goofy poem, Aphrodite insults everyone’s outfits, Uncle Poseidon employs nautical puns, Hermes rattles off jokes at top speed, Hades uses deadpan humor––Athena smells a rat. Why would the notoriously thin-skinned Zeus tolerate these insults? While the jokes fly, Athena tries to solve the mystery of why Zeus is laughing along with everyone rather than smiting them all with lightning. It all builds to a climax that could leave the stage littered with flash-fried deities! |
