| | Script Preview Productions | | | Synopsis | | When heiress Loweena Nordstrom starts smothering boyfriend Norman Crankfield with a little too much “heir,” the young salesman hops a train headed west for a breath of fresh air and a change of pace. It's 1925 and mobsters crop up everywhere, even on the train. Norman suddenly finds himself the sole witness to a mobster murder and to save his neck, jumps off the train at a dried up watering hole called Hard Luck. Jenny, a star-struck lonely waitress, mistakes Norman for the famous film star, Rudolf Falentino. Soon, Norman is knee deep in the lie and even promises the townsfolk that his film company is en route for Hard Luck this very hour. Unfortunately, for Norman, Loweena, Ma James, her three lawless daughters, and a greedy land developer take root at the Drop On Inn, Hard Luck's only roadside hotel, and kick up dust in every corner. Jenny wants Rudolf, Norman wants Jenny, Loweena wants Norman, Ma James wants money, and Graven Slade, the double-dealing land developer, wants Hard Luck.Mistaken identities, frantic chases, rapid-fire lines abound before a clever silent movie climax unravels the secrets and true love triumphs evermore. One interior set. |
